Awesome Metal Eye Foils
As a fan of glitter and metallic eye shadow finishes, I was naturally drawn to Makeup Revolution's Awesome Metals Eye Foils! I had originally seen a lot of hype on social media regarding the 'magnificent metals foil finish eye shadow' by Stila Cosmetics, and as stunning as these do look they retail for £33.50 each!
I found the Makeup Revolution metal eye shadow in my local Superdrug store and bought the shade 'rose gold' for £5! The packaging and contents of these products are definite 'dupes' of Stila's version. Both contain a liquid eye primer in a dropper form and a small mixing tray to mix the primer with the shadow.
This is a little bit of a fiddly and messy product as you can tell from the photos, and getting the right amount of the eye shadow with the right amount of the primer does take a little bit of trial and error, when aiming to achieve the perfect consistency. However, as I see this product as one to use to add a bit of glamour on a special occasion, the extra time needed to apply it is not an issue for me!

As you can see this shadow has a high metallic shine and is quite pigmented. I think the eye shadow is still very pretty without the primer and is more glittery as opposed to metallic. However, as you can tell from the swatches, the primer makes the shadow smoother, more opaque and less patchy.
Here is a photo of me wearing the eye shadow all over the lower lid and smoked out in to a gold/black smokey eye.
Overall, I think the quality of this eye shadow is superb and the shade is beautiful. The price is fantastic and you can even purchase these online from the Makeup Revolution website: http://www.makeuprevolutionstore.com/ for just £4.
The only downfall is that there are only 3 or 4 other colours in the range and one of which I cannot find anywhere - 'Magnificent Copper', which looks stunning and is unfortunately the only other shade I feel I would wear. Stila, on the other hand, do carry 12 shades of their version of the product but I personally feel the price is too high!
I hope this helped any of you looking for a pigmented metallic eye shadow or a dupe for Stila's magnificent metals!
Love,
Jas
